An independent "STUDENT ADVOCATE OFFICE" has been established at the Agricultural University of Athens (National Law B 2513/14.06.2021) and is part of the Organization and the Internal Regulation of Operation of the Agricultural University of Athens (AUA). By decision of the AUA Senate (Session: 593/14.04.2022), the AUA Professor Emeritus Dr. Paschalis Harizanis has been appointed as the Student Advocate.
Its purpose is to mediate between students and professors or administrative services of the University, to observe legality in the context of academic freedom, to deal with phenomena of maladministration and to safeguard the smooth operation of the University. The Student Advocate Office has no authority in matters of exams and students' grades.
The student's Advocate may, by his act, place in the file a report that is considered vague, unfounded or unsupported, while, in the event that he considers that there are indications of a disciplinary offense, he forwards the case to the competent disciplinary body. Each issue will be reviewed either through mediation between the parties, or through intervention by the competent bodies. Any member of the academic community can address the Ombudsman. Students and professors can contact the Student Advocate either in person or by phone (tel. 210-5294579), or by sending a message to the email address synigorosfoititi@aua.gr. The office is open every Wednesday from 13.00 to 16.00 and is located on the ground floor of the Isaakidis Building, office 4. They can also contact the Secretariat of the Office at 210-5294929 for messages.
