LABORATORY ASSIGNMENTS: Aerobic Thermophilic Degradation of Plant Biomass (Composting) - Enzymatic Degradation of Cellulose and Lignin by Fungal Biocatalysts - Bioinformatics / Databases and Basic Computational Tools for the Study of Genes and Proteins - Primer Design for PCR and Applications, DNA Isolation, Bacterial Transformation, PCR, Recombinant Protein Expression, Protein Purification-Electrophoresis - Bacterial Conjugation and Mutation Repair - Growth Kinetics in Batch and Continuous Culture Systems / Types of Bioreactors.
