[6314] Macroeconomic Theory I

Course Content

Introductory Concepts of Macroeconomic Theory, the Structure, Structure & the Measurement of National Accounts, Production of Products & Services & Economic Growth, the Concept & the Dimensions of Price Stability (Inflation), the role & the operation of the Labor Markets & the effects that exist on Employment & Unemployment, the presentation of Content & of Business Cycle Analysis & Issues of Macroeconomic Equilibrium which are related to the characteristics of Economic Fluctuations, the IS - LM / AD - AS Model, referring to a general framework of Macroeconomic Analysis, the role & the operation of the Money Markets & of the Central Bank & the Drawing Frame & Implementation of Monetary Policy, the Drafting Framework & Implementation of the Fiscal Policy, the Analysis of the Financing Sources of Public Expenditures & the treatment of Fiscal Deficits & of the Public Debt.

Learning results

Knowledge

To define & formulate the basic concepts of Macroeconomics & to determine the functions of Designing & Implementation of Economic Policy (Fiscal - Monetary)

Understand terms, concepts & variables used in Macroeconomic Analysis

To describe the essential differences between the different Theoretical Approaches of Macroeconomics

Abilities:

Compute & verify National Accounts Quantitative Measurements & Macroeconomic Statistics

Familiarize & manage the conceptual and substantive differences between short, medium & long term

To carry out the interpretative analysis of the role & operation of Economic Policies (Fiscal - Monetary), their effects on the Economy & their limitations

To analyze issues of balance in the Labor Market & to familiarize themselves with the concepts of Employment & Unemployment

To calculate & verify the Factors causing the phenomenon of Inflation, short term, medium term & long term, as well as & the importance of Money Markets & Monetary Stability

Decode & present the characteristics of Economic Fluctuations in an Economy & demonstrate the interaction of Countercyclical Policies (Countercyclical Fiscal - Monetary) on Economic Fluctuations

To carry out the interpretative analysis of the IS - LM / AD AS Model

Attitudes: To evaluate & contrast arguments, regarding the Design & Implementation of Economic Policies (Fiscal - Monetary) & their effects on the Real Economy (Businesses - Households)
