I. Introductory concepts in information systems. Historical evolution. Categorization and characteristics of information systems.
II. Hardware of information systems. Digital components. Processing and memory on the motherboard. Data storage. Connecting peripheral devices to the computer.
III. Application Software and System Software. System evaluation.
IV. Network details. Network architectures. Internet connection. Configuration.
V. Threats to Digital Resources. Protection of digital property.
VI. Software programming. Information system life cycle. Program life cycle. Algorithm development.
VII. Programming languages. Comparison.
VIII. Databases and information systems. Data mining. Using databases to make business decisions.

LABORATORY PART
I. Numerical systems – Acts
II. Management of large volumes of data
III. Internet Use and Information Search Optimization
IV. Use of MS Office (word, excel, power point, access)
V. Learning UML language
VI. SQL Language Learning

Learning results

The purpose of the course is to introduce students to the fundamental principles of Computer Science and Information Technology, the best way to manage hardware and software, and the impact of modern technology tools on global issues.

Upon completion of the course (Theoretical and Laboratory part), students are expected to be able to:

understand the basic principles and theories related to computer science

to comfortably operate software applications related to their field of study

recognize threats to their network and data security

to explore the factors that influence the development life cycle stages of a program

to optimally manage their computer hardware and software
