Introduction to Business Research, Basic concepts of linear programming, problem modeling, the general pattern, interpretation and mathematical formulation, problem solving, Graphical problem solving, linear programming, The SIMPLEX method, formal form, algorithm, problem solving, The M method and the two phases, Binary theory, properties of binary problems and the SIMPLEX binary method, Sensitivity analysis, The transportation problem, Integer and mixed programming problems, Dynamic programming, Applications in Economics and Regional Science.

Learning results

After completing the course, it is expected that students will be able to:

To understand the concept of research in the business environment and the problems related to the management and coordination of enterprises and organizations, to apply the theory of mathematics to problems of an economic nature and to proceed with the construction of models for their description, to deconstruct, interpret and reconstruct business research and financial problems, evaluate and choose the most appropriate solutions, search for new solutions in a different context of conditions (e.g. sensitivity analysis), model problems using computer programs and the necessary technologies, practice adaptability in new situations, cultivate decision-making reasoning, practice working in an interdisciplinary environment, critical thinking and the promotion of free, creative and inductive thinking.
