Agriculture

Description

The course aims to provide general and specialized knowledge related to the cultivation of the most economically significant annual and perennial arable crops for the country. Specifically, the subject of the course "Agriculture" is to familiarize students, both theoretically and practically, with the current state and prospects of production, as well as cultivation techniques, by applying modern technologies to major crop plants.

Emphasis is placed on the principles of integrated production management and the implementation of good agricultural practices. Students become acquainted with proper agricultural practices for large-scale crops (soil preparation, sowing, fertilization, weed control) and develop the ability to distinguish and select different cultivation systems based on soil and climatic conditions.

Additionally, students acquire all the necessary knowledge so that, as agronomists in the future, they can assist Greek producers in meeting the requirements for producing competitive products, implementing good agricultural practices, and ensuring the sustainable management of the agricultural environment.
