The School of Applied Economics and Social Sciences was established by Law no. 4589/2019 "Synergies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the Agricultural University of Athens, the University of Thessaly with the TEI of Thessaly and Central Greece, the Pallimnian Fund and other provisions "(Government Gazette 13 / 29.01.2019, vol. AD - Article 19). The School consists of the following Departments:

• Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development, based in Athens, Greece
• Department of Regional and Economic Development, based in Amfissa, Greece
• Department of Agricultural Business Administration and Supply Systems, based in Thebes, Greece

The Department of Culture and Rural Tourism also based in Amfissa. The commencement of educational operations in this Unit will be determined by the Senate of the Agricultural University of Athens, once the logistical infrastructure and teaching staff issues are considered further.
