Wildlife Biology

Course Content

Basic elements of morphology, anatomy and physiology of birds, mammals, freshwater fish, amphibians and reptiles. Geographical distribution, habitat, reproduction, feeding habits and behavior of species found in Greece (emphasis on mammals and birds). As part of the course, the workshop includes identification of various species, with an emphasis on those that are of economic importance to humans.

Learning Results

Upon successful completion of the course, the student will
capable:
• has understood the methodology for identifying wildlife species,
• uses the processing methodologies of biological data for the compilation of forest records,
ecological and environmental studies,
• collaborates with fellow students to create and present one
plan – framework of an ecological study which, in the future in the course of his work as
Forester, will be part of a study-plan for an ecological, environmental, management or
other relevant study.

DEPARTMENT OF FORESTRY 

The Department of Forestry and Natural Environment Management joined the Faculty of Plant Sciences of the AUA. The Department operates from the academic year 2019-2020 and is based in Tthe city of Karpenisi. Housed in the building facilities of the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment Management of the former Technical Scool (TEI)  of Central Greece.
