4112. Plant morphology and physiology

Course Content

Fundamentals of plant cells, tissues, and organs; leaf, stem, and root structure and growth; reproductive organs, pollination, fertilization, and fruit types. Core aspects of plant physiology, including seed germination, water relations and transport, transpiration, mineral nutrition, photosynthesis (C3, C4, CAM), nitrogen assimilation, and respiration.

Learning Results

Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to:

• understand the structure and function of plant cells, tissues and organs.

• use microscopic observation to investigate organs, tissues and cells of plant species.

• can utilize the basic knowledge of plant anatomy and utilize this knowledge in other subjects of biological sciences

DEPARTMENT OF FORESTRY 

The Department of Forestry and Natural Environment Management joined the Faculty of Plant Sciences of the AUA. The Department operates from the academic year 2019-2020 and is based in Tthe city of Karpenisi. Housed in the building facilities of the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment Management of the former Technical Scool (TEI)  of Central Greece.
