Upon completing of the course, the student will:
be able to understand the functionality and the role of Internet,
be able to describe and identify the Internet applications and technologies,
be able to understand the Internet architecture and its technological infrastructure,
be able to understand the business models of the Internet,
can select new technologies and social networking tools to improve the functionality of websites,
can describe e-commerce, e-government and e-learning applications,
can design dynamic websites that meet specific requirements and interests,
acquire knowledge about the architecture and design of web applications,
acquire skills in using free software for the implementation of Internet applications with emphasis on the agri-economic sector,
acquire skills in writing HTML and CCS code, well structured, easily maintained, standards-compliant and accessible,
acquire knowledge in the use of new digital technologies and social media tools,
be able to provide advisory services on the development of websites and the adoption of social media tools.
It is the only Greek University Department with the objective of training agroeconomists able to meet the demands of this new period in Greek agriculture which was inaugurated with the entry of Greece into the E.U.
