Mineralogy-Petrology
Dr. Emmanouil Psomiadis (AUA) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Natural Resources and Agricultural Engineering (AFPM) at the Agricultural University of Athens, specializing in "Remote Sensing in Geological and Agricultural Sciences" He is an agronomist and graduate of the NAPAE Department, with two master's degrees in Water Resources Management and Environmental Management, and holds a PhD in Agricultural Sciences from the Agricultural University of Athens, specializing in Remote Sensing in Environmental and Geomorphological Applications. His primary research and teaching subjects are: Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications in Natural Resources Management (Water-Soil), Geology-Geomorphology, Natural Disasters, and Land Use/Cover. He has 25 years of experience in research projects and studies, and numerous publications in internationally peer-reviewed journals. In 2022, he received the Digital Governance Award, by winning the first prize in the Ministry of Digital Government’s Annual Competition in the category entitled "Best New Idea" for the thematic category "Public Administration, Self-Government and Justice", for the Project titled: “Digital dynamic and multi-level rural map with the assisted ranking of agricultural land in productivity categories”. In 2021, he was listed among the top 2% of scientists in the world for 2020 (Baas, Jeroen; Boyack, Kevin; Ioannidis, John P.A. (2021), “August 2021 data update for 'Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators'").
