UNISECO UNderstanding and Improving the Sustainability of agro-ECOlogical farming systems in the EU

UNISECO is a European research project aiming to develop innovative approaches to enhance the understanding of socio-economic and policy drivers and barriers for further development and implementation of agro-ecological practices in EU farming systems.

The ambition and overarching objective is to strengthen the sustainability of European farming systems, through co-constructing improved and practice-validated strategies and incentives for the promotion of improved agro-ecological approaches.

Participatory case studies test the UNISECO methodological toolkit and assess the environmental, economic and social impacts of innovative strategies and incentives for agro-ecological approaches in EU farming systems at farm and territorial levels.

This project has received funding from the European Union's H2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 773901. Project duration is 3 years starting 1st May 2018.

The Consortium consists of 18 partners from 15 countries in EU, including universities, research institutes, non-profit organizations, SMEs and one international organization.
