To understand the fundamental concepts of spatial planning, spatial planning, regional development and spatial analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To know the basic trends and forces that develop in space, to understand the causes that cause differential spatial dynamics and relationships, to understand how space affects the development potential of spatial units and regions and to know spatial planning rules and policies which contribute to balanced development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To delve into planning issues at urban, national and regional level and to acquire theoretical and applied knowledge in matters of organization and planning of space at urban, national and regional level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To understand the dynamics of spatial phenomena, the socio-economic parameters, the operating framework and planning practices in Greece and internationally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To understand the concept of spatial planning in the context of spatial change management and spatial governance and to understand the necessity of strategic spatial planning as a renewed public action and as a social process of political coordination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To get to know applied cases of strategic spatial planning from Greece and Europe, to understand the concept of territorial cohesion and to get to know examples of spatial public policies that approach territorial cohesion at the European, national, regional and local level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After completing the course:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Students will be able to understand, have opinions and analyze real issues related to spatial planning and spatial planning at all levels of spatial organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They will have developed their critical ability to know, analyze and interpret various spatial planning policies and spatial planning strategies and distinguish the most appropriate ones that contribute to balanced spatial development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
