To understand the fundamental concepts of local development and the components that shape the concept of local government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To know the key economic forces that interact at the local level, to understand the causes of inequalities at the local scale and their spatial relationships, to understand how space affects the dynamics for local development and how local societies participate in economic networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To understand the extension of the use of the concepts and tools of microeconomic analysis in spatial matters, to know indicators and quantitative methods of measuring local development, inequalities and interactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To know how development is created and strengthened at local level, the role of local actors and local government organizations and the effect of different development policies and incentives on local development<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To know the different relationships that can be created between local spatial units and the process by which local development contributes to the development of other units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After completing the course:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Students will be able to understand, have opinions and analyze real economic phenomena related to space, spatial units, development and inequality at the local level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They will have developed their critical skills to analyze local development and convergence policies and recognize the policies and mechanisms that create competitiveness at the local level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They will have the ability to apply methods of evaluating local government policies related to local development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
