The Department of Regional and Economic Development at the Agricultural University of Athens participated in the Pan-Hellenic Student Conference held in Delphi from May 3\u20135<\/strong>, 2026<\/strong>, strengthening the connection between the university community and school education and student creativity. The conference, titled \u201cBring Your Own Oracle to Pythia: Myth Inspires, Art Creates, Science Explores,\" was co-organized by the Directorates of Primary and Secondary Education of Phocis and the European Cultural Center of Delphi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Department Chair, Professor Marina-Selini Katsaiti, delivered a speech titled \u201cBecome Your Own Pythia!\u201d <\/strong>during the Conference\u2019s Opening Ceremony. Professor Katsaiti emphasized the importance of utilizing information and taking personal responsibility in the decision-making process, emphasized the role of intuition as a contributing factor to knowledge and information, and highlighted the valuable contribution of failure and redefinition in the journey toward achieving life goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the Conference, an interactive workshop titled \u201cGenAI: The Modern Pythia?\u201d was conducted by Dr. Labrini Seremeti<\/strong>, Assistant Professor, in collaboration with the Department\u2019s doctoral candidates, Vasiliki-Maria Poulou, Haris Kalogeras, and Nikolaos Tsipa<\/strong>. The workshop linked the mythical figure of Pythia with modern Generative Artificial Intelligence, inviting students to explore how answers are generated, what role interpretation plays, where uncertainty arises, and why the right question is often more important than the answer itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through live polls, word clouds, short quizzes, and open-ended questions, participants were gradually introduced to the concept of prompt engineering<\/strong>\u2014<\/strong>that is,<\/strong> the importance of properly phrasing questions when interacting with Artificial Intelligence systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event, starting from Delphi and looking toward the future, highlighted the connection between myth, technology, critical thinking, and creativity, reaffirming the Department\u2019s role as an active academic institution dedicated to outreach and collaboration with the school community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
