Spiros Dourmas is a lecturer at the Agricultural University of Athens, in Amfissa, with specialization in law and economic applications. He received his MA in Civil Law from the Middlesex University of the United Kingdom and holds a law degree from the University of Athens (School of Law). He speaks fluently English and French. He teaches at the Department of Regional and Economic Development of the Agricultural University of Athens.
He is the chairman of the Internship Committee and member of the Thesis Committee of the Department of Management-Economics & Communication of Cultural & Tourism Units (DOEPTM) of the former TEI of Sterea Ellada. In the past, he has taught in higher education for many years (since 1992) at the former TEI of Chalkis and later former TEI of Sterea Ellada, mainly in the field of law. He has also taught in apprenticeship schools of the Public Employment Service (OAED), as well as in public and private IEKs. He has participated in seminars on Regional Development. He was a speaker at a conference on 'The developmental role of local government as an institution in conjunction with policy in the field of labour force training - The developmental role of local government and the European Union's action program for SMEs', organized in 1993 by the former TEI of Chalkida. He has served as a member of the Consumer Dispute Settlement Committee and the European Court of Auditors of the Directorate of Tourism and Trade.
Since 1992 he has been practicing as a lawyer in civil, commercial and labour law cases. Since 2005 she has been handling legal affairs of insurance cases of the Single Social Security Institution (EFKA).
