Dr. Sotirios Trigkas teaches
as a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer at the Department of Regional Economic Development, School of Applied Economics and Social Sciences, Agricultural University of Athens,
as Associate Teaching Staff in the Public Administration Course, of the School of Social Sciences of the Hellenic Open University and
as Associate Teaching Staff at the School of Business and Economics of Metropolitan College.
He holds a PhD degree (PhD) from Panteion University, in Finance and Management Accounting of Banking Organizations, an MSc degree from the Athens University of Economics and Business, in Finance and Banking, and a BSc degree from Panteion University, in International and European Studies with emphasis on Economic Relations.
He has four years of independent teaching experience at the Agricultural University of Athens and Panteion University, in the courses: Business Economics, Accounting, Financial and Management Accounting, Investment Evaluation and Business Decisions, Financial Reporting, Financial Management Accounting, International Public Sector Accounting Standards and Economic History. He also teaches for four academic years, at the School of Business and Economics of the Metropolitan College of Athens, undergraduate and postgraduate courses in financial accounting and financial reporting. He has contributed to the editing of two academic texts in accounting and has a strong research interest in internationally published research articles and numerous participations and presentations at international scientific conferences.
His research interests are related to the design, implementation, and evaluation of investment and development projects, the modeling of Additional Capital Needs (AFS) of companies and organizations, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), the New Public Management, International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and the measurement of efficiency through accounting and financial reporting and spatial analysis.
He is a Certified Adult Educator (E.O.P.P.E.P.), Registered in the Register of Principal Teaching Personnel of the National Centre for Public Administration and Local Government, and registered in the Register of College Teachers. He has also served as a financial consultant with many years of work experience in management positions in the banking sector, in research development and investment projects in the private sector, as well as in academic and research organizations.
