Course Content

The methodology and tools of Economic Analysis, The productive potential of the economy, Basic principles of optimization, Demand & supply, Elasticity of demand & of supply, Utility and Behavior, Theory of production, Theory of production costs, Market forms and business behavior, Perfect Competition, Monopoly, Monopolistic Competition, Oligopoly and its forms, Public Goods and externalities, Market for factors of production.

Learning results

The learning outcomes of the course are:

Familiarity with middle-level Microeconomics with specialization of the knowledge acquired in the course Principles of Economic Theory I.

Students should explain the basic theory of Microeconomics with diagrams and simple mathematical tools.

To solve micro-economics problems using diagrams and simple mathematics.

To understand the way in which the business and the consumer operate within the economy and to recognize types and forms of behaviors and markets.
