The Department of Regional and Economic Development actively strengthens the link between the University and Secondary Education by participating in initiatives that cultivate innovation, entrepreneurial thinking, and students’ digital skills.

Within the framework of the JA Greece – Virtual Business programme (an online entrepreneurship programme: https://jagreece.org/programs/virtual_business/), the Chair of the Department, Dr. Marina-Selini Katsaiti, and Assistant Professor Dr. Lambrini Seremeti participated online as mentors, supporting student teams in developing their business idea and transforming a technological solution into a comprehensive proposal with social and educational impact.

This initiative highlights a meaningful interdisciplinary collaboration between school units and the University. The initiative was led by Agronomy teacher Ms Maria Pantermali, together with her student team from EEEEK Katerini, while implementation was carried out by ICT teacher Mr Christoforos Karachristos, together with his student team from EPAL Kos.

Through this participation, the Department strengthens bridges of cooperation with school units and educational communities, promotes a culture of mentoring and knowledge transfer from higher to secondary education, and supports actions that connect innovation, entrepreneurship, and social value.
