Access to the Library’s Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC)

The online Library catalogue contains 27.726 entries of documents and new ones are constantly being added.

Full cataloguing of the whole material is being done according to the international cataloguing principles.  More particularly, the following principles are used:

• the Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules 2 on second-level description in USMARC format and
• the Library of Congress Subject Headings

The names are established by:

• the Library of Congress name Authorities
• the Catalogue of Greek Name Authorities of the National Library of Greece

The classification is made in according with the Dewey Decimal Classification, 23^rd ed.

However, until the completion of retro-cataloguing, there may be entries with insufficient data and some deviations in the classification numbers.
