Since 2019 she
is President of the Italian Proteomics Association, (ItPA) and since 2016 she is Council Member of
the Human Proteome Organization (HUPO). She currently is teaching microbiology in Biotechnology
course and Animal Production course.
She has a degree in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology from the University of Milan and a
PhD in Biochemistry obtained at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Sassari.
From 2001 to 2018 she was the Head of the Proteomics Laboratory of Veterinary Public Health and
Animal Sciences at the Italian Experimental Institute Lazzaro Spallanzani in Milan. In 2006 she
founded a start-up (Proteotech) at the Science and Technology Park of Sardinia- Polaris, of which
she was CEO until 2016, whose mission was proteomics applied to the diagnostics of
microorganisms in the veterinary field. Since 2017 she is Executive Editor of Journal of Proteomics
(Elsevier) and since 2020 she is Editorial Board Member of journal \u2018One Health\u2019. (Elsevier) She is\/was
in charge for guest editor of special issues of JOP and Animal Journal.
Over the years, Prof. Roncada has been particularly dedicated to proteomics studies, a discipline
that she applied to the study of microorganisms in the field of veterinary public health, applying
advanced molecular methodologies to the etiopathogenetic and diagnostic study of diseases of
medical-veterinary interest, even in animal models. He also applied proteomics investigating
phenotypic adaptations of microbial consortia in complex matrices, both animal and food of animal
origin, with focus on metaproteomics. He also applied these methodologies in the field of animal
production. These researches have been published in important international journals. The results
of the research activity of prof. Roncada are reported in 89 extensive publications in international
journals with anonymous review (peer review), her H index is 23 (Scopus-Elsevier January, 2021).
She is therefore the author or co-author of over two hundred printed papers including
communications at national and international conferences.
