Scientific Coordinator of the training program is Ioannis Baziotis (Associate Professor at the Department of Natural Resources and Agricultural Engineering of Agricultural University of Athens)

The program is addressed to anyone who has an interest in the field of minerals and rocks, and specifically to those who wish to acquire knowledge about meteorites.

Learning objectives:

A. Knowledge:

• The critical evaluation of technical reports.
• Observation of meteorite samples in various scales.
• The ability to identify the predominant features of a meteorite.
• The ability to distinguish a meteorite from a terrestrial rock.

B. Skills

• Ability to describe the minerals based on the macroscopic observation of a specimen.
• Ability to describe the class of a meteorite.

C. Abilities

• Recognition of the value – not only scientific – of a meteorite.
• Understanding the significance and the range of the meteorite market at the National and International level.
• Utilizing knowledge for the commercial exploitation of meteorites.

Scientific and Academic Coordinator of the training programme is Ioannis Baziotis, Associate Professor at the Department of Natural Resources and Agricultural Engineering of Agricultural University of Athens.

Trainee obligations / Training Certificate

For the successful completion of the Training Programme, trainees must:

• They must have attended all the teaching units. Absences cannot exceed 10% of the scheduled training hours.
• They must have successfully completed the final examination (a 60-minute examination with multiple-choice questions without negative grading).
• They must have paid the full attendance fees before the begin of the Training Programme.

Trainees who successfully complete the programme receive a Certificate of Education, which is issued by the CCELL of the Agricultural University of Athens.

Trainees who attended, but failed the final examination receive a Certificate of Attendance.

Participation fee / Discount policy

The attendance fee is 700 euros and must be deposited before the beginning of the Training Programme (the deadline for the submission of the attendance fees is recorded in the acceptance letter addressed to the trainee).

Discount policy:

• Undergraduate students of the Agricultural University of Athens: 15% (595 euros)
• Undergraduate students of other Universities or Technological Institutions: 10% (630 euros)
• Participants repeating the Training Programme within 2 years after an unsuccessful attempt: 50% (350 euros)

Interested individuals should deposit the aforementioned amount into the account given below, which held by the Special Account for Research Funds (SARF) of the Agricultural University of Athens, specifying their name and the project’s SARF code (code: 450.0032).

Μέθοδος Εκπαίδευσης: εξ αποστάσεως (e-learning) εξολοκλήρου μέσω ασύγχρονης εκπαίδευσης

Επιστημονικός Υπεύθυνος του προγράμματος είναι ο κ. Ιωάννης Μπαζιώτης (Αναπληρωτής Καθηγητής στο τμήμα Αξιοποίησης Φυσικών Πόρων και Γεωργικής Μηχανικής του Γεωπονικού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών)

Το πρόγραμμα απευθύνεται σε όποιον έχει ενδιαφέρον στο τομέα των ορυκτών και πετρωμάτων, και ειδικότερα σε όποιον επιθυμεί να αποκτήσει γνώσεις για τους μετεωρίτες.

Εκπαιδευτικοί – μαθησιακοί στόχοι προγράμματος:

Α. Γνώσεις:

• Ικανότητα αξιολόγησης δεδομένων
• Παρατήρηση δειγμάτων σε διαφορετικές κλίμακες
• Ικανότητα αναγνώρισης ενός μετεωρίτη
• Ικανότητα διάκρισης ενός μετεωρίτη από ένα γήινο πέτρωμα.

Β. Δεξιότητες

• Ικανότητα περιγραφής των ορυκτών με βάση τη μακροσκοπική παρατήρηση του δείγματος
• Ικανότητα περιγραφής της κλάσης του μετεωρίτη

Γ. Ικανότητες

• Αναγνώριση της αξίας – όχι μόνο επιστημονικής – ενός μετεωρίτη
• Αντίληψη της σημαντικότητας και του εύρους της αγοράς των μετεωριτών σε Διεθνές και Ελληνικό επίπεδο,
• Χρήση γνώσης για την αξιοποίηση των μετεωριτών για εμπορικούς σκοπούς.

Επιστημονική ομάδα:

Επιστημονικός και Ακαδημαϊκός Υπεύθυνος του προγράμματος είναι ο κ. Ιωάννης Μπαζιώτης, Αναπληρωτής Καθηγητής στο τμήμα Αξιοποίησης Φυσικών Πόρων και Γεωργικής Μηχανικής του Γεωπονικού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών.

Υποχρεώσεις εκπαιδευόμενων/Πιστοποιητικό Επιμόρφωσης

Για την επιτυχή ολοκλήρωση του προγράμματος οι συμμετέχοντες θα πρέπει:

• να έχουν παρακολουθήσει το σύνολο των διδακτικών ενοτήτων. Οι απουσίες δεν μπορούν να υπερβαίνουν το 10% των προβλεπόμενων ωρών εκπαίδευσης.
• να έχουν ολοκληρώσει με επιτυχία την τελική εξέταση (εξέταση διάρκειας 60 λεπτών με τεστ πολλαπλών επιλογών χωρίς αρνητική βαθμολόγηση).
• να έχουν καταβάλει το σύνολο των διδάκτρων μέχρι την ολοκλήρωση του προγράμματος.

Μετά την επιτυχή ολοκλήρωση του εκπαιδευτικού προγράμματος απονέμεται στους συμμετέχοντες Πιστοποιητικό Επιμόρφωσης, το οποίο εκδίδεται από το Κέντρο Επιμόρφωσης και Διά Βίου Μάθησης του ΓΠΑ.

Στους συμμετέχοντες που παρακολούθησαν αλλά δεν ολοκλήρωσαν το σύνολο του προγράμματος, μπορεί να παρέχεται Βεβαίωση Παρακολούθησης.

Κόστος Συμμετοχής / Εκπτωτική Πολιτική

Το κόστος συμμετοχής στο πρόγραμμα είναι 700 ευρώ και πρέπει να καταβληθεί πριν την έναρξη του Προγράμματος.

Εκπτωτική Πολιτική:

• Προπτυχιακοί Φοιτητές του Γεωπονικού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών: 15% (Κόστος: 595€)
• Προπτυχιακοί Φοιτητές άλλων Πανεπιστημίων ή Τεχνολογικών Ινστιτούτων: 10% (Κόστος: 630€)
• Συμμετέχοντες που επαναλαμβάνουν το Πρόγραμμα μέσα σε 2 χρόνια έπειτα από ανεπιτυχή προσπάθεια: 50% (Κόστος: 350€)

Οι ενδιαφερόμενοι/ενδιαφερόμενες καταθέτουν το ανωτέρω ποσό στον παρακάτω λογαριασμό, στον οποίο δικαιούχος είναι ο Ειδικός Λογαριασμός Κονδυλίων Έρευνας του ΓΠΑ, αναφέροντας απαραίτητα το όνομά τους και τον κωδικό ΕΛΚΕ του έργου (Κωδικός: 450.0032).
