Theodoros Koutsobinas

Brief CV

Theodoros Koutsobinas is currently an Assistant Professor of Economic Theory with an Emphasis on Culture Management at the Department of Management Science and Technology of the University of Peloponnese in Greece. His specialization is on Keynesian behavioural economics, liquidity shifts in monetary economics and finance, culture change management and behavioural change, sustainability, and social inclusion policies in the global economy.  Prior, he taught in Greece at the University of Patras, Greek Open University, Athens University of Economics and Business, and the University of the Aegean. Abroad, he taught at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden and as an Assistant Professor at the MBA Program of American College of Regent’s University in London, UK. He received a PhD in Economics from the New School in New York City, USA and he was a NATO post-doctorate fellow at Cornell University, USA. He has published over 50 articles as chapters in books, conference proceedings and in leading or distinguished international academic journals. Those journals include Cambridge Journal of Economics, Journal of Economic Methodology, European Planning Studies, Review of Behavioral Economics, Journal of Post Keynesian Economics, Review of Political Economy, Review of Social Economy, International Journal of Environmental, Cultural, Economic and Social Sustainability and other important publication outlets. His last book The Political Economy of Status: Superstars, Markets and Culture Change was published by Edward Elgar Publishing, U.K. and USA in 2015. Besides, his extensive professional experience spans over 30 years. Also, he served as Advisor to the Minister of National Economy (1994-1995), member of the Board of Directors of Greek public organizations OTE (2000-2001), Attiko Metro Operating Company (2000-2004), Postal Savings Bank (after merger, Eurobank) (2004-2005) and Management Advisor of the Bank of Macedonia-Thrace (after merger, Bank of Piraeus) for strategic forecasting in the Balkans and Eastern Europe (1995-1998). His international experience also includes executive and consulting assignments in finance, management, strategy and international business. He also has international experience as an expert in European Commission development aid and research programs in Europe and Africa in the areas of financial strategy, macroeconomics, trade, competition, regional development, and cultural change.
