Assis. Professor Evangelia Chronopoulou received her degree in Agricultural Biotechnology from the Agricultural University of Athens (A.U.A.) in Greece and her MSc degree in Environmental and Occupational Epidemiology from Medical School of Athens. She obtained her PhD in Enzyme Technology Lab of A.U.A. Her scientific field is enzymology and enzyme engineering. Her research interests focus on downstream processing, enzyme nanostructures, design and development of enzyme-based biosensors, enzyme discovery and engineering, ligand fishing, enzymatic synthesis of polysaccharide-based materials for drug-delivery and prebiotics, enzymes that apopolymerize polysaccharides of pathogenic biofilms, enzymes for the development of magnetic enzymatic nanoscavengers.
