GENETICS & BIOLOGY OF PERENNIAL PLANTS

Description

The course covers the Plant Kingdom general classification and plant genetic relationships, the secondary-growth in perennial plants, phloem and xylem development, annual ring development, spring-summer wood/sap-heartwood/reaction wood, tree dating and the general wood structure. It also covers perennial plant resistance to cold and mechanisms and adaptations to cold resistance as well as other stresses such as drought or high temperature. Finally, the water movement in trees is covered.
