With the desire of our students to climb the highest mountain of the Peloponnese, Taygetos, the F.O.S. is planning an excursion on 28-30 October 2022 to visit the peak of Profitis Elias.
Two days, in line with the other purposes of the Association, will be dedicated to visiting two Medieval castropolises, one Byzantine (Mistras) and one Frankish (Geraki).
We will also experience the celebration of a local product, chestnut. We will visit the beautiful village of Arna, at the foot of Taygetos where there is a local festival and the picturesque village of Kosmas in Parnonas.
The ascent of Taygetos will take place on Saturday 29 October. With a short detour we will visit the place where the philosopher, poet, writer and university professor of the E.K.P.A., Dimitris Liantinis, passed away. Total altitude difference of 1.400m. Duration of the march: 11 hours
