{"id":751,"date":"2023-06-27T17:17:06","date_gmt":"2023-06-27T14:17:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/w1.aua.gr\/efp\/?post_type=faculty&#038;p=751"},"modified":"2025-05-27T13:37:14","modified_gmt":"2025-05-27T10:37:14","slug":"ioannis-stringlis","status":"publish","type":"faculty","link":"https:\/\/w1.aua.gr\/efp\/en\/faculty\/ioannis-stringlis\/","title":{"rendered":"Ioannis Stringlis"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Assistant Professor of Phytopathology, working on a) <strong>plant-microbiome-pathogen interactions<\/strong>, b) <strong>mechanisms of induced systemic resistance in plants<\/strong>, c) <strong>interaction between iron deficiency and pathogens<\/strong>, and d) <strong>plant defense mechanisms activated in response to phytopathogens and beneficial microbes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His research expertise is \"<em>Phytopathology \/ Plant-Pathogen-Microbiome Interactions<\/em>\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He has performed his PhD studies and later worked as postdoctoral researcher at <strong>Utrecht University<\/strong> in the Netherlands (2012 - 2023). He has obtained his BSc (2003 - 2008) and MSc (2010 - 2012) degrees in <strong>Agricultural University of Athens<\/strong>. During 2020 - 2022, she studied at the \u201cMolecular and Applied Plant Biology - Green Biotechnology\u201d Masters program at the University of Crete. After her MSc studies, she did a 6-month Erasmus+ internship, at the Plant \u2013 Microbe Interactions Laboratory at Utrecht University (Netherlands).
