4823. Urban Wildlife Management

Course Content

Application of ecology and wildlife management principles in urban environments, including urban habitats for wildlife, factors influencing wildlife presence, and impacts such as disease, overpopulation, and invasive species, as well as strategies for managing and mitigating wildlife-related conflicts in cities.

Learning Results

Upon successful completion of the course the student will be able to:

  • Has an understanding of the ecology and management of urban fauna, diseases, imported species and problems in the urban environment.
  • uses research methodologies on urban fauna and their relationship to the urban environment,
  • collaborates with his / her fellow students to create and present a project - a framework for the study of urban fauna, which in the future in the course of his work as a Forester, will be part of a study-plan for an environmental or other relevant study.

DEPARTMENT OF FORESTRY 

The Department of Forestry and Natural Environment Management joined the Faculty of Plant Sciences of the AUA. The Department operates from the academic year 2019-2020 and is based in Tthe city of Karpenisi. Housed in the building facilities of the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment Management of the former Technical Scool (TEI)  of Central Greece.
