4511. Forest Ecology
Course Content
Concepts and structure of forest ecosystems, forest types and distribution, autoecology and synecology, interactions between forests and environmental factors (light, temperature, water, air, soil), humus and mycorrhiza, growth ecology, reproduction and regeneration processes, biomass production, stability and resilience, species interactions, ecosystem dynamics, and forest succession.
The Department of Forestry and Natural Environment Management joined the Faculty of Plant Sciences of the AUA. The Department operates from the academic year 2019-2020 and is based in Tthe city of Karpenisi. Housed in the building facilities of the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment Management of the former Technical Scool (TEI) of Central Greece.
