Course Content

Principles and methods for assessing and utilizing forest biomass for energy production, forest biomass as an energy resource, current energy needs and prospects, forest energy planning and models, production of wood fuels, charcoal, pellets, briquettes, and residues, and the advantages and limitations of forest biomass use, with emphasis on the situation in Greece.

Learning Results

Upon successful completion of the course the student will be able to:
• Knows the benefits of forest biomass for energy production
• Uses data processing methodologies to compile studies related to the development of industrial fuel units
• Has the skills to respond to future research or professional activities.

DEPARTMENT OF FORESTRY 

The Department of Forestry and Natural Environment Management joined the Faculty of Plant Sciences of the AUA. The Department operates from the academic year 2019-2020 and is based in Tthe city of Karpenisi. Housed in the building facilities of the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment Management of the former Technical Scool (TEI)  of Central Greece.
