4616. Green Entrepreneurship and Innovation

Course Content

Introduction to entrepreneurship and business development, business organization and management, modern forms of entrepreneurship (social enterprises, startups), green entrepreneurship and the green economy, business models and environmental protection, circular and bio-economy, business planning and strategy, innovation and product development, market analysis and marketing, financing mechanisms, environmental finance, corporate social responsibility, environmental performance, and environmental certification.

Learning Results

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:

•Understand the concepts of entrepreneurship, green entrepreneurship, and innovation

• Research the green economy

• Understand the concepts of the circular economy and bio-economy in production models

• Use available technology to collect data related to entrepreneurship, process it, analyze it, and draw conclusions for its development

• Have understood and appreciated the importance of green entrepreneurship and innovation in the development of the country

• Combine their knowledge and examine the possibilities of utilizing financial tools in the development of green entrepreneurship and innovation

• Prepare business plans related to the green economy and development

The Department of Forestry and Natural Environment Management joined the Faculty of Plant Sciences of the AUA. The Department operates from the academic year 2019-2020 and is based in Tthe city of Karpenisi. Housed in the building facilities of the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment Management of the former Technical Scool (TEI)  of Central Greece.
