Amalia Nikolopoulou

Brief Curriculum Vitae

Amalia Nikolopoulou is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Agribusiness and Supply Chain Mangement of the Agricultural University of Athens, specializing in "Transport and Distribution in the Supply Chain". She holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (2008) and a PhD from the Athens University of Economics and Business (2016) in Operations Research and Management Science.

Her research activity focuses on the following areas: (a) Management and optimization of freight transportation and logistics networks, b) Development of computational optimization methods for solving operational research problems, (c) Business operations management, and d) Public transport planning, railway planning and operations.

She has presented her research work in reputable international scientific journals and has participated as a scientific project manager in National and European-funded research projects in the wider field of Transport and Logistics Management. At the same time, she teaches postgraduate courses at the University of Economics and Business and the Hellenic Open University.

The Department was created in 2019 (article 20, Law 4589/2019) and is an evolution of the Supply Systems Management Department (D.S.E.). Housed in a 770 sq.m. building. within a plot with a total area of 8,000 sq.m. in facilities with extensive research and teaching spaces.
