Nikolaos Malamos is Associate Prof. of Soil Hydrology and Drainage.

He graduated from the Agricultural University of Athens, he received his M.Sc. from the School of Civil Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens and his Doctorate in Agricultural Sciences from the Department of Natural Resources and Agricultural Engineering. He received a scholarship from the State Scholarships Foundation, for the attainment of his doctoral thesis in the field of Agricultural Hydraulics – Irrigation.

He participated in several research projects on the fields of irrigation, hydrology, hydroinformatics and geographic information systems. His research activity is related to hydrology, irrigation, mathematical simulation with emphasis on water resources, water movement in the soil, soil - water - plant - atmosphere relationships, water resources management, hydroinformatics and spatial analysis methods.

He is a member of the Editorial Board and Co-Editor of Science of Climate Change and previously served as Associate Editor of Hydrological Sciences Journal, the official journal of the International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS).

Stavros Alexandris is a Doctor of Agricultural Sciences (2003). Since 2006, he has been teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the disciplines of agricultural micrometeorology and crop water requirements. Since 2014, he has participated in the interdepartmental master’s study program as a visiting professor at the Universities of Belgrade and Novi Sad, Serbia. From 1983 to the present, he has actively participated in many research and educational programs for national and European projects. He has published several papers in international refereed journals and conferences and is a reviewer in many international journals. He is a member of the Geotechnical Chamber of Greece and the Hellenic Meteorological Society.

The Department belongs to the newly established School of Environmental and Agricultural Engineering and grants a single degree in Agriculture (Integrated Master – Level 7 of the National and European Qualifications Framework) with specialization in Natural Resources Development and Agricultural Engineering.
